Care That Starts with Understanding

Every person on the autism spectrum is different, and so are their needs. Some families come in seeking clarity about a child’s development. Others are looking for help with anxiety, attention, mood, sleep, or behavior that is making daily life harder. Adults sometimes arrive with questions they have carried for years.

Dr. B. Harrison Levine, MD, MPH is double board-certified in adult psychiatry and in child and adolescent psychiatry. He takes the time to understand each person’s strengths and challenges and works closely with families and other professionals to build care that truly fits.

How We Support People on the Autism Spectrum

Care is individualized for children, teens, and adults, and includes the people who support them.
Psychiatric evaluation
A comprehensive evaluation that looks at development, history, current challenges, and any co-occurring concerns.
Help with co-occurring concerns
Support for anxiety, attention, mood, and other challenges that often accompany autism.
Thoughtful medication management
When medication may help, it is used as conservatively as possible and reviewed regularly.
Support for families and schools
Guidance for parents and caregivers, with coordination among schools, therapists, and other providers.

When additional services would help, Dr. Levine refers to trusted psychologists and therapists. You can read more on our Autism Spectrum Disorder page.

Working Together with Your Child's Team

Children and teens on the autism spectrum often have several people supporting them: parents, teachers, therapists, and pediatricians. Dr. Levine works collaboratively with all of these caregivers so that everyone shares the same understanding and goals.

He also treats ADHD, which can occur alongside autism.
